Life has been busy so I have not had much time to update this blog.
A little update: I PASSED THE CCNA!!
After months of giving up video games, nights out with friends, and studying/labbing every day. I can finally say that I am CCNA certified. The journey was long, but absolutely worth it. I can confidently say that I have a solid understanding of how network routing/switching works now. From topics such as; routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, RIP and more, VLAN’s, Spanning Tree, Etherchannels, Network automation using Ansible and python, I feel ready to take the next step in my professional IT journey.
Where do I go from here?
Well to start, I’d love to apply the knowledge I’ve acquired into a Network Administration/Engineer related role. The hunt for the next step in my career is well underway.
In terms of further education, I’d like to dabble into a bit of cybersecurity and scripting next. The goal is to cover the topics for the Security+ exam, and then teach myself a bit of python so that I can start automating everything.
